Gorgeous brides Kerry and Hannah have re-told the story of their wedding where they quite literally told Covid to do one after living the whirlwind journey that was planning a wedding throughout 2020. We got engaged in June<a href="tel:+442019">2019</a>, and in September we won a competition with<u></u></span><u><a href="https://www.bespoke-weddings.com/" style="color: rgb(255, 172, 169); background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); outline: 0px; text-align: left;">Bespoke Weddings</a><span style="text-align: left;"></span></u><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">for a free wedding venue. We set our date with</span><a href="https://thrumptonhall.com/" style="color: rgb(255, 172, 169); background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); outline: 0px; text-align: left;"><u>Thrumpton Hall Estate</u></a><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">for 1<sup>st</sup>November<a href="tel:+442020">2020</a>and sent out save the datesto around 80 guests, then covid happened. For most of<a href="tel:+442020">2020</a>, we had no idea whether we would actually be able to get married or not. When lockdown ended in the summer we started moving ahead with our plans, although these were quickly scuppered. We cut our guestlist to 30 in line with the government guidelines, then to 13. By October, there was talk of the tier system, and it looked like Nottingham was heading for tier 3 so although we would have been allowed to have the wedding ceremony, we would not have beenallowed a reception. We spent several frantic hours calling our venue, calling the registrar, calling the venue again, calling our photographer</span><a href="http://www.pinkphotographics.co.uk/" style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); text-align: left; color: rgb(255, 172, 169); outline: 0px;"><u>Pink Photographics</u></a><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">. Somehow, we managed to scrape it together. At such short notice, our guests scrambled to change their travel andaccommodation plans. Out of the original 13, only two couldnt make it. Our venue managed to throw together some catering, tablecloths and cutlery, and we hurried to make sure we had everything sorted. Lynn, one of the wedding planners at Thrumpton, even broughtsome fancy cloth napkins from her own home for us to use. We also made the name cards for the table and did our own hair and makeup. It was always our plan forHannahs mum to make the venue decorations for us to fit with the autumnal theme and they turned out amazing. The length was shortened by Amy at Chalk Tailors. Kerry wore a pairof sparkly gold Doc Martens as her shoes. Hannah then sewed 475 sequins onto her dress by hand finishing two days before the wedding!
